Minority Dreams had a wonderful run. It inspired and highlighted diverse people and their amazing stories. Due the lack of funding, the magazine wrapped early in 2010. It was a great time in my life and I hope that it was the same for the those who took part in its publication. Thank you to my fellow writers and readers. I look forward to the next big thing in my life, whatever and whenever it may be. Cheers.

Quick update on Minority Dreams Magazine

On Thanksgiving day, MD’s article on the affects of the current health care system on students was republished on New America Media’s website. Be sure to read the original at MD OR republished article at NAM, written by our first and awesome intern, Francesca Gacho.

Also, my old college newspaper, The Daily Titan, recently wrote an article about Minority Dreams Magazine and how/why it got started a year ago. Be sure to check it out here.

It’s our Bday! Minority Dreams is turning 1 on Nov. 3!

It has almost been a year since the launching of Minority Dreams Magazine and we’ve got a few ideas in the works.

First, we’re opening up MD for academic internships (credit is limited to CSUF only but we’ll likely expand this soon). We are definitely looking for a diverse group of writers, so contact me if you’re a student and need/want this opportunity, we’ll still give you a good reference upon completion.

We’re getting together our best work from the last year for all our readers to visit once more…check back next week for the list.

We’ve got new and old writers on board, our newest and perhaps most unique addition is 22-year-old freelance journalist, Omar Ghraieb. He lives in Gaza and reports on the Palestinian situation from a first hand perspective. Read his work and look out for more from Omar in coming issues.
